About our Artificial Intelligence practice

A small, focused team that builds machine learning systems businesses actually use.

How we started

Insight AI Professionals began in 2019 when our founder, Rhiannon Pryce, left a senior data-science role at a FTSE 250 insurer to do consulting work on her own terms. The first client was a Cardiff-based logistics firm that needed a better way to predict driver availability. That project, scoped on a kitchen table, cut scheduling errors by 34 % in its first quarter.

Word spread. By mid-2020 the team had grown to four, and by 2022 to nine. We moved into a proper office on High Road in New Kohlerfield, though roughly half the team works remotely on any given day. The logistics firm is still a client.

What we believe

We have three principles that shape every engagement. They aren't aspirational slogans; they're rules we follow when making day-to-day decisions about how to run projects.

Solve the real problem

Clients sometimes arrive wanting a specific technology: a neural network, a recommendation engine, a chatbot. We listen, then dig into the underlying business question. If a simpler solution answers it better, we say so. We've talked clients out of AI projects when a well-designed SQL query would do the job. That honesty is why they come back for the projects that genuinely need machine learning.

Ship, then improve

A model running in production and making real predictions, even imperfect ones, teaches you more than six months of offline experimentation. We aim to get a minimum viable model live quickly, then iterate based on real-world performance data. This approach reduces risk because you're never more than a few weeks from a usable result.

Leave the client stronger

We document everything: data pipelines, model architectures, retraining schedules, known edge cases. When we hand over a project, your team should be able to maintain it without us. If you want us to stay on for monitoring and updates, great, but you should never feel locked in.
